Workshops and Teaching
A passionate educator, I have extensive experience leading and facilitating workshops, classes, and special events across Canada and around the world. I’m a sensitive, respected teacher who believes we all have a story to tell. I work with care, patience, and respect for wherever you are in your creative process–even if that’s just at the beginning.
I am a strong believer that being able to understand and articulate our own personal stories is an integral part of our development as healthy people. Feeling safe enough to nourish our creativity and connect with the stories inside ourselves is a lifelong process. Life writing and personal storytelling have the ability to boost our confidence, identify our strengths and fears, connect us to our hearts and bodies, and root us firmly within the narrative of our own personal histories. Learning to craft compelling fiction, memoir, and non-fiction springs from identifying and understanding our own unique voices and perspectives.
Standard workshops include Finding Your Authentic Voice, What’s Your Story?, Crafting Fiction, Embodied Writing (movement and mindfulness), Telling Truths: Introduction to Memoir, Anchored Masculinity: Writing for Men, and Writing Through Life Change.
Stay tuned for news of upcoming workshops and events. I’m also more than happy to talk to you about tailoring a course or workshop for your writing group, class, community organization, or corporate team.
