Harness the gifts of winter’s END
As we transition out of winter and into the first tender days of spring, we’re confronted with what this time has meant. In a year of so much struggle, hope, fatigue, and isolation, how to we harness the gifts of this time of wintering? This workshop is focused on the gentle practise of writing inquiry—using guided writing practise to explore the joys, longings and wounds of our hearts at this time. In supported practise, we’ll respond to prompts to write together through several major themes of winter: internal reflection, loss, looking forward, and letting go. No prior writing experience necessary, and no need to share your writing with the group unless you choose. Although we’ll meet on Zoom, this can be an interactive practise or completely solitary. You choose.
If you're new to writing, this will be a supportive and encouraging place to start. The workshop is open to writers of all genres, but may particularly appeal to writers of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and memoir/life writing. Prepare to respond to writing prompts and bring a sense of curiosity and loving kindness to the day. The focus of this workshop will be process—writing as a means of going deeper into our experience—rather than on crafting a finished piece.
