Retreat Schedule
August 27-30, 2018
On most days, we offer a series of core workshops in yoga and writing, followed by free time for you to relax, swim, canoe, kayak, walk, rest, or work on your own writing or yoga practise. In late afternoon, before dinner, you have the option to take an additional writing or yoga workshop on a particular topic. Note that all workshops are completely optional. The goal is for you to practise, play, and rest as much or as little as you'd like. Find more information about yoga and writing activities after the schedule.

Writing Sessions
This retreat will help you to intentionally slow down and take time to rejuvenate and consciously down-regulate your nervous system through meditation, breath-work, and yoga practice. One of the ways to integrate and embody this experience is to spend time working on your own writing. Narrative research shows that the ability to create and share our stories has a positive impact on our health and wellbeing. Whether it's reflectively journaling or working on a concrete fiction, memoir, poetry, or creative nonfiction project, you'll find plenty of support and structure at this retreat. We'll integrate creative writing prompts, interactive storytelling, and focused writing time--all with a sense of play and openness. Participants can choose to work on or revise a work-in-progress or simply use the time to explore new ways of approaching or beginning the craft of writing. On the final night, you'll have the chance to share a short piece of writing with the group, beneath the stars around a cozy bonfire (entirely optional).
No prior writing experience necessary.
Looking to go deeper? For retreat participants, a limited number of pre-booked, discounted one-hour private consulting sessions are available for $90+HST. Retreat participants will also be offered discounts on future online or in-person editing or consultation sessions.
